Busy Weekend: sewing, love and food

Hello everyone!

I had a busy weekend! I made so many things... I helped my husband with his work (which made me happy) and I sewed some of my niece's birthday party favors (she is turning 4). She loves purple and princesses. I am making drawstring backpacks for her and her friends in purple, pink and ivory; I'm also using a fabric with princesses' castles to make pockets. I am half way through. Finishing them will be my goal for this week. I think that she has an amazing aunt :) Don't you think?

I also sold a personalized Notebook Page Pencil Case. The costumer asked if I could embroider "Pencils and Pens" and the result was very cute!! You can buy it blank here, but if you want to order the pencil case with personalization, please send me an email at handmadephilosophy@gmail.com and I will be happy to provide you a quote.

Besides work, we had to go to the supermarket as we were without any food at home! We love going to Whole Foods... we always walk there because the entire way is so beautiful, it is really worth it. I took some pictures of the streets of Philadelphia on a sunny Sunday afternoon (I love this city!). Here you can see Rittenhouse Square, Logan Circle, and some beautiful flowers (I love flowers as well!!). The strawberries are from the supermarket (they smelled great, so I bought them).

Moo Minicards + Fabric Selvages = Bookmarks!

Moo minicards are a lot of fun! They are so cute and—what is awesome—you can design them the way you want… moo.com offers a great variety of templates and ideas: check it out.

I got my cards two weeks ago and loved them: they have quotes that say things to cheer you up. I used to save fabric selvages and wasn’t sure what I would do with them. Then, looking at my moo cards, it occurred to me that I could transform them into bookmarks…
I made a hole using a punch on the minicard and stitched the selvages in it.

I now send them to my customers hoping that they remember my shop and find my business cards/bookmarks useful and cute. Put your comments down and let me know if you like it!!

Wedding findings on Etsy

Hi everyone!
In this post I'll show you some of my findings for my wedding last year.
Etsy is a great source for wedding items. There you can find wedding dresses of all kinds, bouquets, veils, decorations, favors, invitations and so on...

Favors:
I used these bags made of muslin by Jennifer (JennifersCookies). I filled the bags with a few Godiva Truffles. Everybody loved it!!

Bride and Groom table:
For the Bride and Groom table, I ordered this shabby sign from CountryWorkshop.

Now I'm using this sign as part of our new home decoration :)

Table Numbers:
I made the table numbers by myself. This is not from Etsy, but you may have more luck (and more time!) than I and find amazing things! I used Printable Table Tents from Paper Source and added embellishments from Martha Stewart Crafts Collection. This was a really easy DIY!

I didn't have any more time to do additional stuff for our wedding. I wish I could thought of making our Save the Dates with the sachet that I sell on my shop. But it was still beautiful and memorable!!

We married at the Conservatory Garden in Central Park and we had our dinner reception at Astra. It was really nice to have our family and friends with us at that day.
